Workshop Services

Kim is an experienced workshop instructor who has been presenting on a variety of OT topics for over 10 years. She currently presents on a National level with Summit Professional Education on MULTI SENSORY HANDWRITING SKILLS. You can purchase her OnDemand webinar to obtain 6 hours of continuing education credits at: http://summit-education.com. Private workshops can also be scheduled directly with Kim.

She uses enthusiasm, humor, and her extensive knowledge to educate people in a way that allows them to learn useful information, but also allows them to learn from each other in an interactive way. The goal of these workshops is for each person to take away at least one technique or tool that they can use the very next day!

Workshop prices: Full day classes (please contact Kim). Local workshops/in-services that are 3 hours or less are $100 per hour + mileage.

Workshop Topics

Topics and length of workshops can be designed to fit your needs. Below are some examples:

• Effective Handwriting: Tools and Tips for the Classroom: Attendees will learn the prerequisites needed to promote good handwriting development, including tools and tips to promote grip, spacing, letter formation, etc. Products will be discussed and the attendees can try them.
• Handwriting Without Tears K-5 Overview: In this workshop attendees will learn the importance of good handwriting, the 8 components of handwriting, and specific HWT techniques.
• Handwriting Without Tears pre-K Overview: Attendees will learn specific HWT techniques from the award winning Pre-K HWT program. Attendees will be able to interact with the materials.
• Mealtime Tips: Picky Eaters Vs. Problematic Eaters: Attendees will learn the difference between picky eaters and problematic eaters, the seven components to eating, and techniques that can be used at home.
• Sensory Tips and Tools: Attendees will be given an explanation of what sensory integration is and all of the different types of sensory inputs. Attendees will also have an opportunity to experience sensory equipment.
• Sensory Tips and Tools (part 2): Attendees will fabricate a variety of sensory equipment that can be used in the classroom. This may be messy, so dress appropriately! Attendees may be asked to apply some of the techniques learned from the first session and write down observations.

Although Kimberly is a licensed occupational therapist, her services are not considered therapy. These services are considered private pay and unfortunately insurance cannot be accepted.
